This Privacy Policy explains how ZENPRODUCTS TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED ("we," "us," or "our"), trading as zenproducts, handles information for the Zen Whisper Mac app (the "App") and related pages on www.zenproducts.ai (the "Site").

1. Summary
- Default speech recognition runs on your Mac using speech packs you download and run locally. Core dictation does not require sending your audio to zenproducts.
- Optional cloud speech and writing tools are off unless you choose them. They use API keys you provide. Those providers process audio or text under their own terms.
- YouTube and Instagram link imports download media with tools on your Mac, then transcribe with the on-device speech pack. Those platforms still apply their own terms to the download.
- Licensing for Zen Whisper Pro uses a license service we operate. Activation may send your Gumroad receipt email, license key, and a device identifier. Gumroad verifies licenses on the server side under Gumroad's terms.
- In-app product analytics are on by default and can be turned off in Preferences. They are designed around anonymous usage events, not selling your transcripts as an ad product.
- The Site may use hosting logs and aggregate analytics or performance tools when configured. Site tools cannot read your local dictation history.
2. Scope
This Policy covers the Zen Whisper Mac app, Zen Whisper pages on the Site, and messages you send to us. It does not govern Apple, Gumroad, model hosts you download from, analytics processors, cloud AI providers you enable with your own keys, or social platforms you import from.
3. Information processed in the App
3.1 Speech, transcripts, and files on your Mac
When you dictate or transcribe, audio and text are processed on your device for the default local engine. Transcripts, history, preferences, and downloaded speech packs live on your Mac unless you export, copy, or send them elsewhere yourself.
3.2 Optional cloud engines (bring your own key)
If you select a cloud speech or writing backend and add an API key, the App sends the audio or text needed for that request to the provider you chose. Keys are stored in the Keychain on your Mac. We do not supply those provider keys, and we do not receive your cloud request payloads as a zenproducts vault of transcripts.
3.3 Media links
For supported YouTube or Instagram links, the App uses download tooling on your Mac to fetch media, then runs on-device transcription. Network contact with those platforms (and helper components the downloader may fetch) is required for that feature.
3.4 Model and update downloads
Speech packs and related models may download from model hosts we designate or from update channels we operate. App updates may check an update feed we host. When you are licensed, update checks may include a license key parameter so the feed can authorize Pro builds.
3.5 Licensing and device binding
To activate or validate Zen Whisper Pro, the App may contact our license API with your email, license key, device id, and optional device label, and later with a session token. That service may call Gumroad to verify the license. Deactivation flows may contact the same API.
3.6 In-app analytics
Unless you opt out in Preferences, the App may send anonymous product analytics events (for example install, feature use, and similar counters) to analytics processors we use. Events use an anonymous identifier stored on device. Turn analytics off in Preferences if you do not want this.
3.7 Support email
If you email us, we receive your address, message, and any attachments you include.
4. Website visitors
When you visit the Site, hosting and analytics providers may process IP address, device and browser data, referrer, pages viewed, and similar technical events.
- Hosting logs and aggregate analytics or performance metrics when enabled.
Purchase pages on Gumroad are governed by Gumroad's privacy policy when you buy or start a trial there.
5. How we use information
- Provide dictation, transcription, licensing, and updates;
- Understand aggregate product usage (when analytics are on);
- Operate and improve the Site;
- Respond to support and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your transcripts to build advertising profiles.
6. Sharing
Depending on features you use, information may be processed by:
- Apple (macOS, Keychain, notarization-related tooling as applicable);
- License and update hosts we operate;
- Gumroad (purchases and license verification);
- In-app analytics processors (if analytics remain enabled);
- Model hosts for speech-pack downloads;
- Cloud AI providers you enable with your own keys;
- YouTube, Instagram, and related download helpers when you import links;
- Site hosting and analytics processors when configured.
7. Retention and your choices
- Local transcripts and packs remain until you delete them or remove the App.
- License records are kept as needed to run entitlements and prevent abuse.
- Analytics retention follows our analytics configuration and opt-out.
- You may turn off in-app analytics in Preferences, avoid cloud engines, and limit Site analytics with browser controls.
8. Children
Zen Whisper is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher age required where you live).
9. Changes
We may update this Policy. We will revise the "Last updated" date on this page. Material changes may also be noted in the App or on the Site.
