Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Zen Slate ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
Description of Service
Zen Slate is a mobile application that allows you to create, organize, and manage notes, including text, images, tags, and categories. All data is stored locally on your device.
Zen Slate offers a free version with basic features and a Pro subscription that unlocks unlimited notes and premium features.
Subscription and Pricing
Zen Slate Pro is available as an annual subscription. The subscription provides access to all premium features, including:
- Unlimited notes creation and storage
- iCloud sync and backup
- Secure data encryption
- Priority customer support
- All future premium features and updates
The annual subscription is billed once per year. The exact pricing may vary by region and is displayed in your local currency at the time of purchase. Pricing is subject to change, but any changes will not affect your current subscription period.
Subscription Terms and Auto-Renewal
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal by going to your Account Settings in the App Store after purchase.
Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription to that publication, where applicable.
Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will continue to have access to premium features until that time.
Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policy. If you are eligible for a refund, you must request it through Apple's customer support. We do not process refunds directly.
If you cancel your subscription, you will lose access to premium features at the end of your current billing period. Your notes and data will remain accessible, but you may be limited to the free version's feature set.
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your device and the data stored within the App
- Backing up your data as the App stores data locally on your device
- Using the App in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Not using the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Data Storage and Backup
Zen Slate stores all data locally on your device. You are solely responsible for backing up your data. We are not responsible for any loss of data that may occur due to device malfunction, loss, theft, or deletion.
We strongly recommend regularly exporting your notes using the export feature available in the app settings.
Intellectual Property
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Zen Slate and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain all rights to the content you create within the App. By using the App, you grant us a license to use, store, and process your content only as necessary to provide the App's functionality.
Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- Use the App to store or transmit illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Remove any copyright or proprietary notices from the App
- Use the App to violate any applicable laws or regulations
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, we cannot guarantee data recovery in case of device failure, loss, or damage.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zen Slate shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:
- Your use or inability to use the App
- Any loss of data stored within the App
- Device malfunction, loss, theft, or damage
- Any unauthorized access to or use of the App
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease immediately. All data stored locally on your device will remain unless you delete the App.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
